Introducing SpectruM!

Meet SpectruM, the seveth generation Michigan Solar Car.

Although SpectruM follows in the footsteps of several successful Michigan solar vehicles, SpectruM is different from those of the past. SpectruM is the first two-person solar car in Michigan Solar Car history. This means that both a driver and passenger will race SpectruM across the country this summer in the American Solar Challenge. New race regulations for 2003 permit two-person solar cars, which allows for a larger solar array with the added weight of the passenger.

SpectruM also draws upon many of the successful technologies and design concepts of previous Michigan solar cars, including the use of aerospace grade composite materials and a 4-wheel steering system.
