Scrutineering Passed; Qualifying Updates

We are at the Hidden Valley track for qualifying, which is going on as we speak. We successfully passed scrutineering this morning, and are now awaiting our turn to take our hot lap around the track. Some top times (unofficial) from the track so far: Aurora 101: 1:53 Nuna 5: 2:02 Tokai University: 2:07 Stanford: 2:09 OSU (Japan, adventure class): 1:58 FH Bochum's BoCruiser pulled into the pits with a problem--we're not sure whether they will receive another hot lap or not.

I cannot stop smiling. It's showtime! My thoughts will be with you on the road (so it's your fault if I fail that midterm next week). Smooth sailing. :)

Weather for Darwin for
Weather for Darwin for Saturday and Sunday from weather.com: Sunny with a high in the low 90s F (low 30s C). Should make for a fast start.
I wouldn't use weather.com...
I wouldn't use weather.com... http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=Darwin... with the hourly projections extracted from the GFS model or http://www.weatherzone.com.au/nt/darwin-daly/darwin are more useful... or you can download McIDAS-V (in all its buggy java jre glory) and see what the satellites see for yourself. The earth looks good at 11000x11000 :) Cheers, Andy
Thanks for the good
Thanks for the good updates... wish Hidden Valley had a live webcam feed... the 1km visible geostationary satellite images I spend all day looking at don't have quite adequate temporal or spatial resolution. All the solar car alum who keep refreshing blogs constantly throughout the day for updates should all just chip in a bit and fund a video feed next time. Be nice to know lap times for Principia, Umicore, and Twente when they're available. Cheers, Andy
No one remembers starting
No one remembers starting position...everyone remembers finishing position. We started 10th in Sunrayce 93 but finished first. I don't even remember where we started in WSC 93 but I'll always remember where we finished: 11th (number 1 twice!). Go Blue!
